Make Folded Paper Stars: simple and so satisfying decorations

I love this classic and also contemporary paper decoration, the five point folded star. It’s simple to make, and the folded planes create such nice shadows which look good from both the front and the reverse.

There are lots of great instruction videos and what-not on the internet, showing how to create the outline of a five-pointed star with folding and cutting, but you will also find a star shape in design and drawing software which you might have. I used Adobe Illustrator, to draw my star. However you draw your star, try to keep it equal, with all five points the same, as this makes it easier to fold with a neat centre point.
